No mystery, no sales process

  1. We get back to you

    Usually by phone. We'll ask enough questions to work out whether it's a job we should be looking at, and tell you if it isn't.

  2. We come and look

    For anything structural we need to see it. That includes getting into the ceiling or subfloor if that's what it takes to know what the wall is carrying.

  3. You get a written quote

    Itemised, so you can see what's ours and what still needs a certifier, another trade, or an engineer if the job calls for one. Free, and no obligation to proceed.

What should I send through with an enquiry?
Whatever you have. Architectural plans and an engineer's drawing are ideal, but photos of the wall, the room above it and the ceiling space are genuinely useful and often enough for us to tell you what you're dealing with.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quoting is free and there's no obligation attached to it. If we come out and tell you the job isn't worth doing, that costs you nothing either.
Do you work directly with homeowners, or only builders?
Both. A lot of our work comes through builders, and a lot comes from homeowners opening up a floorplan. If you're going direct we'll be clear about which parts of the job are ours and which need other trades or a certifier.
Do I need an engineer before I contact you?
Not to get started, and sometimes not at all. We can look at the job and tell you what it involves before any engineering is done. Simpler timber jobs can be sized from AS 1684.2 span tables, which saves you the fee. Steel, long spans and concentrated loads do need an engineer, and we can point you in the right direction if you don't have one.
How far do you travel?
Right across Sydney, from a base in Dulwich Hill. North shore and eastern suburbs included. If you're not sure whether you're in range, ask. It takes thirty seconds and the answer is usually yes.
